If you travel to Europe, you may think that this is a continent just loaded with beautiful, single, women who opt to display their independence with beautiful right-hand rings. Actually, in many parts of Europe the engagement rings double as wedding rings and they aren’t as particular as Americans about having them on their left-hands. This might be because during the ceremony, the ring is shifted from one hand to another as a symbol of the marriage and later it can be shifted back for comfort sakes. Either way, don’t assume a woman is unmarried in Europe if she sports a ring on her right hand!
