Bathing Beauties: Julia and Melodie Zagury

When in France... find two fabulously fetching french girls and beg them for their beauty routine. Well, that's exactly what I did.

Twins Julia and Melodie embody the French mentality - gorgeous, flawless skin, beautiful hair, natural, youthful glow with an air of sophistication and all around chicness.

The French take pride in their beauty regimen - and why not? They have some of the most incredible products in the world! So, for this edition of bathing beauty, I have asked my new favorite frenchies to dish on their beauty secrets.

Julia Zagury (artist)

What are your top 5, can't-live-without products?
- Chanel Luminous Matte Powder - It immediately lightens up your face and gives you a softer and sweater look.
- Guerlain Terracotta - I just love it's moisturizing and long-lasting formula. You can't even notice it's not a natural tan!
- Lumene Eye Shadow - I only wear grey eye shadow, and have used this same brand for years.
- Nivea Soft Cream for hands and face - It's made of jojoba oil and protects and softens your skin immediately, which is great because my skin is always so dry! I can't go anywhere without it.
- Caudalie Vine Peach Shower Gel - It smells so good that even when I'm not showering, I can smell it on my body. I feel so fresh and light after using it.

What is your all-time favorite product?
Guerlain Terracotta!!!

What product do you buy in bulk?
My lips are always so dry and soared so I buy lip balm in bulk. My favorite one is the cherry Labello because it moisturizes your lips in a second and it has this beautiful cherry-red color.

You moisturize your face with...
Nivea Soft.

Favorite body product?
Huile Prodigieuse by Nuxe. It contains 98.8 ingredients of natural origins and is a multifunctional product : face, body and hair. It nourishes, repairs and softens and it smells like summer!! Great scent to use in the summer as well as winter.

Favorite beauty secret you've picked up along the way?
My hair is really thick and I have a lot of it. Normally, I don't do anything and it naturally has body. But sometimes because I have so much it gets really heavy so my volume disappears. My special beauty secret is to braid my hair into two braids and put a head band on my forehead, leave 10 minutes and it will give you all the volume you need.

Beauty icon you admire?
Natalia Vodiana. She's always so fresh and sexy. She has this amazing woman-child face and attitude. For me, she's just perfect.

What are your top 5, can't-live-without products?
-Chanel Pressed Powder Compact - It lightens your skin up and gives the impression of purity.
-Guerlain Terracota (without glitter) - Until now I've never found a better one. I even like it's smell.
-Paul Smith perfume called London - It's really light and smells like summer, when you live in Paris it can cheer you up since the sky is so grey.
-All the moisturizers from La Roche Posay - They are really thick but are what's best for your skin. It's really bad to use products that dry out your skin and with all the pollution in Paris, it's important to take care of it.
- Clinique High Impact Mascara - I used to wear all different brands of mascara until I realized that I have sensitive eyes and a lot of allergies. This one works the best for me. It doesn't irritate my eyes at all.

What is your all-time favorite product?
Lipsticks. The best are Dior, there isn't one in particular but I do prefer red or dark pink.

What product do you buy in bulk?
The Chanel and the Guerlain face powders. I think it is most important to have nice skin.

You moisturize your face with...
Hydranorme from La Roche Posay. A really good dermatologist in Paris that advises it, he even says that the water from the sink isn't good for your skin and that you should wash your face with thermal water sprays. He also adds that washing your face with cotton is really bad it aggrivates the skin because cotton is a pollutant fiber. It is better to use a tissue. I've been doing this since last summer and I can really see a difference.

Favorite body product?
Mixa Body Lotion. It isn't very expensive and it's an agreeable cream. I hate when you moisturize and the cream is so thick it takes a while to soak into your skin.

Favorite beauty secret you've picked up along the way?
When ever i have an imperfection i put a liquid corrector on it, then i use a flat (blush pencil or i do no what) to spread it on the spot (i do the same under my eyes), and i cover it up with the Chanel powder, and it hides it really well.

Beauty icon you admire?
Charlize Theron. Her skin always looks nice and golden, her hair color is pretty (I like it when it's wavy and light blond). Actually, it's the skin of people that impress me the most and she is aging beautifully.

thanks! i love these interview posts...i don't really understand washing your face with a tissue though?? why not just use your hands if cotton is a pollutant?

I think she is referring to drying your face after washing...

I love Labello cherry and fortunately we can now get it here in the States by Nivea (they're the same company). I am wearing it now!

Thank you so much for this! I'm always curious about the European perspective on beauty, but most women I've spoken to tend to get very tight lipped about their secrets. D: Its refreshing to hear some unfussy down-to-earth beauty routines, especially since we're all surrounded by lash curlers and Spackle and flat irons. :D

This was a fantastic interview. I have serious beauty envy right now. Those girls are glowing!

I let my face air-dry, but not fully - I prefer applying cream on a slightly damp face ;).

And yes, cherry Labello is amazing ^_^.
