Out With The Old, In With The New

2008 is OVER, finally! Historically speaking, 2008 was one of the worst years in American history (okay, well maybe it's not a historical fact, but it should be!) - stock market crash, war, famine, natural disaster... we've seen our fair share of hardship!

But with 2009 comes a clean slate. Last year's misfortunes are filed away as we make room for the future.

In the spirit of a "clean slate," I thought that a great way to start 2009 would be with a "clean house." So, I decided to sift through the past year of products (unlike 2008, all of my products are incredible!) to make room for the new products of 2009.

Here's a pic of my lippie drawer:

(talk about holding on to the past!)

And here's a pic of the products that (sadly) won't be coming with me into 2009:

It's important to clean house yearly, if not bi-yearly, to get rid of the excess clothes, shoes, paper work even beauty products. Surrounding yourself with clutter leads to anxiety and overall unease. A simple thing like rummaging through the overabundance in your life can really change the energy of your home! Not to mention, it's a truly freeing experience!

I'm going to give some of the products to my fellow beauty friends and the rest (most of it) I will donate to a woman's shelter in my area!

How about you?

And, most importantly, what products will be coming with you into 2009?

Happy New Year! My Rimmel Smokey Brown Quad will be coming with me for sure - I was all about neutrals last December, it was all I had time for:)

I actually purged most of my makeup back in MAC, keeping only essentials when I embarked into the new world of mineral makeup. Now I've branched back out into non-mmu brands, and I can definitely say my Tarte Cheek Stain will be coming with me!

I love purging my closet out at least once a year, because it really keeps me from holding onto things that just don't look right anymore, or don't fit well, etc.
