 “Summer is when you need to focus on a very natural, seriously sensual beauty. With this collection, we also wanted to add some frisson, capture the dark side, so to speak; create a mood, a look that captures a late summer night’s magic,” says Pat McGrath. “It had to be all about the eyes; with these vivid blues and greens, the eyes are so deep-the ultimate sexy, extremely erotic-especially against the almost imperceptible yet radiant wild rose tones of the lips and the skin.”

A renewed emphasis on the seductive flavor of the Mediterranean as Hollywood’s siren screen glamour momentarily steps aside. “Summer has such an intense duality. The intimacy and rapture of the night, and the joy of each new day. More specifically, we wanted to recreate the dramatic duality of the wild roses’ delicate shades against the Sicilian night’s daring shades of romance and mystery,” says Domenico Dolce, “There’s such an explosion of colour,” adds Stefano Gabbana, “with the wild roses carpeting the landscape against the drama of the seascape.”
