Couture Wrap-Up

If the Oscars is Hollywood's time to shine, then Couture is fashion's golden moment. I've asked  Frederic Fekkai’s National Creative Director Fabrice Gili to give us the low down on hair maintenance at Couture Week, 2010.

BB: what are the trends we are seeing at couture this season?

FG: The trends we are seeing at the couture shows this season are more natural, definite waves.
-A matte look to the hair, where the hair is not as polished and less shine-like
-We are seeing styles inspired by the 1940’s
-A few shows have continue to elaborate the braided look
-Minimalistic 80’s trend

BB: any one show that stands out as trend setter?

FG: Chanel (pictured) is always a trend setter. It has built a reputation to be the classic brand, yet continue to draws a young and chic crowd. Women at all ages enjoy Chanel.

BB: what does this say for fall?
FG: For fall, there will be a major comeback for perms but modernized.

BB: best hair at any show?
FG: John Galliano is  a show that stands out because he understands that the hair is an essential component to the full look.  His styles are daring and theatrical, and help to convey the message of his collection.
