WEEKLY MUST HAVE: Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant

Deodorant is a necessary step in every woman's beauty routine. But the effects of antiperspirant (to stop sweating)/ deodorant can be paramount on one's health. You see, many of the non-green, drugstore brands contain aluminum which basically plug up pores, trapping sweat and bacteria in the arm pit. This can cause major infections as well as, some say, seeping into the lymphatic system. Not pleasant.


I'm trying desperately to make the switch to "green" deodorants and am so happy to have found the Lavanila Healthy Deodorant. It comes in 4 scrumptious flavors: pure vanilla, vanilla lavender, vanilla grapefruit and my personal fave, vanilla coconut. They are free of aluminum, parabens, harsh chemicals and propylene glycol.

Smell Delish With No Preservatives

Weleda's Wild Rose Deodorant is AMAZING!!!! I'm literally speechless (not really) about how obsessed I am with this product. And the best part -- besides smelling like a rose garden -- it's ALL NATURAL!

It's a spray and it goes on with a cool and light tingle, almost like a body spritz. While it won't stop you from sweating, it will make your pits smell more decadent then a freshly cut rose. And with one spritz in either pit, the refreshing spray will leave you smelling sweet and overwhelm the senses... Guaranteed.

"Weleda Wild Rose Deodorant inhibits the development of unpleasant body odour without interfering with the skins natural functioning. They are effective deodorants not anti-perspirants. Weleda is infused with natural ingredients that won't harm the body or leave you with that retchid white film that your everyday non-organic deodorants do. Seriously, this product is so brilliant, it's worthy of a few douses elsewhere too (yes, down south, ladies - before that hot date!).

Balance: A Deodorant

I've recently discovered a fabulous line that makes the most amazing organic products (and you know how I feel about a good organic product!). The line is called International Orange and it's part of a San Francisco Spa with the same name.

All of the products are "made with certified organic, wild-crafted or biodynamically grown ingredients of the highest integrity and are sourced from the finest available growers. All vegetable oils and butters are fair trade. All products are crafted by hand."

Products range from a body wash, body cream, shampoo and conditioner and a deodorant.... yes, an organic deodorant!


I'm pretty much obsessed with Balance: The Deodorant. And here's why: Obviously, it's all natural, thus the ingredients aren't harmful to you or the environment. It smells refreshingly clean yet musky - very unisex. With a mixture of lavender flower, echinacea root, and comfrey leaf I just feel like my body is being cleansed, soothed and healed. AND, it comes with a spray pump applicator - the mist is SO refreshing (even a bit tingling).

"A neutralizing body deodorant with extraordinary antibacterial and antimicrobial properties and that gently fortifies the immune system. Lavender Flower is refreshing and antibacterial. To be completely honest, I'm not entirely sure if this is meant to be used as an underarm deodorant, a body deodorant or both. I use it for both. Since there aren't any harmful or synthetic ingredients and I enjoy the clean smell, I figure, why not just spray it whenever I feel the need for a pick-me-up? After all, it is Summer, and that means it's hot and muggy - we're all in need of a "spray down" from time to time. And so far, it has yet to disappoint! Not to mention, it fits perfectly in my purse alongside my lip gloss and mascara!
